Care to speculate as to what the noise might be? It sounds like a scratching noise coming from under my car. It only happens when I slightly turn the wheel as if to go around a bend. It happens when I turn both left and right on the steering wheel and is much more noticeable at high speeds.

First, more info on the truck would be helpful...make, model, mileage, etc.
Off hand I would check:
Power steering fluid level
Belt and pulley on the power steering pump(look for worn belt or damaged pulley wheel)
Tire clearance under the fenders and tire condition (look for tread separation or signs tire is rubbing on fender well)

Good Luck!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look this weekend and let you know if I find anything. My truck is s 2000 Ford Ranger Extended Cab. I did get larger tires the last time that I got new ones but I made sure they weren't so big that they would rub. I'm also not sure the rubbing is an issue because this is just now happening as of last week.
