My troubleshooting thread has been locked

Hmmm... you posted a software (OS) question in the Hardware forum. I can't see why the Mods would lock it.

So hard drive's arn't considered hardware..... and bios is considered OS.

I assume you mean you are installing XP with SP2, not SP2 for XP?
XP and SP2 are software. You are likely having a driver issue and not a hardware issue.

I did my best to abbreviate Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2, figured most folk could figure it out... and I don't think the OS is the issue.

It looks to me to be a hard issue now. I guess I'll have to repost in the appropiate category. I don't understand why this troubleshooting gets so much scrutiny.
