Hello,
So I came back from China for a vacation and I checked out a few local internet cafes in Xian and Beijing. It was cool to see so many people playing games at 3am.. Probably because of the super cheap rate (It was 25 cents an hour .. 35 if you wanted to sit on fancy couches). Anyways, I expected to see things like WOW since I heard about gold harvesters and such and low and behold there were tons of people playing (its cool to see everything in chinese though).. I also saw lots of counterstrike...
Other cool games I noticed was this RPG type game (looked like diabloish with chinese).. I even saw lots of girls playing computer games..
The two games that caught my eyes were:
This dancing game and this DDR type game.. After talking to friends they told me that those two games are widely popular in China.. and not to mention free..
I wish they had DDR type games where you level up (Like an RPG) in the states cause I think it would be pretty popular..
I was fortunate to have a friend help me register my name and such (you need a china id) and you can play the game here in the states if you can get past the chinese.. I cant write or read that well myself.. but you can pretty much figure things out..
Pretty interesting..
Here are the links to the games if you wish to venture out and try something new..
http://o2jam.9you.com/ (DDR type game)
http://au.9you.com/ (Dance game)
The DDR game basically has bars dropping from the screen and you have to use the keyboard to hit the "notes" as they get to the bottom.. The Dance game has you type in a sequence of arrows followed by the spacebar (you want to hit the spacebar as the meter as it flashes).. Both games are super addicting..
