How soon before we see a Canon DSLR with the sensor of the 5DMkII and the body of the 7D? This is what I am waiting for but I wonder if Canon will do it at the risk of hurting XD sales.

what exactly are you wanting from the 7D body? it's a hair heavier and has the new LCD tech, but otherwise, pretty similar.

I'd much rather have the 5DmkX with the 7D's AF =) not even, just a fraction of it, heh. In specific, I want the 5dmkI sensor, a dumbed down 7D AF, in the 5dmkII body. all at a sub $2k pricepoint.

eh, teh D700 is heavier. and requires me to swap glass. I'd be switching for switching's sake. What I'd really want is the K7 body, the D700 sensor+AF, and a comibination of pentax pancakes and canon's fast primes. whoever makes this will get my money next =)
