The tablet that claims to be everything the public wants and more is here. After an early release by a few stores, namely the Best Buy in Austin, TX, the Thrive has finally released everywhere July 10th, 2011. Coming in at $429, $479, or $579 for the 8gb, 16gb, and 32gb versions respectively, the tablet is aggressively priced in lieu of other tablets currently on the market. Sporting full size USB, HDMI, and SD slots/ports, Toshiba strives to provide a more laptop like experience with the Thrive. So how does it fair?

I went hands on on the Thrive this afternoon. I like the rubberized back, but I felt it was too thick compared to the Tab 10.1 and Transfer. The camera being on the left side in landscape was also irritating, I much preferred the central location of the Tab/Transformer.

I like the Samsung's size and weight, and its keyboard dock, but dislike the lack of sd card slot. And Samsung's plans to include TouchWiz in an upcoming update sickens me.
