my ti-4600 gets slower when i overclock?!?!

my best score was
315/700mhz - 11144 - game1 176.8/49.5 game2 195.1/112.5 game3 150.9/67.3 nature 66.5 fps

is this suppose to happen?!? i highly doubt it

the only thing that seems to good up when i overclock is the fillrate and polygon count, and pixel benchmarks

any help or info is appreciated

using 53.03 drivers

when you overclock too far, there will be errors and this, in effect, creates the slowdown. they may not be artifacts that you can see, or long pauses that you can detect, but errors nonetheless.

but, that may not be what is causing the apparent lower scores. first, i would ditch the 3dmark01 and go with either 03 or 05... or, better yet, an actual game. doom3 and farcry are very good for pushing cards to their limit and testing the stability of an overclock.

If your card has thermal monitoring the card might slow itself to reduce the heat.

Yeah, that happens. When the card has errors it has to redo the work, thus, it functions slowly because its doing the same thing more than once. In a nutshell, I'm sure there's a fancier way of explaining it.
