errrrrrr....My tongue is numb :(

Just got back from the dentist. 3 cavities and 3 fillings. The first thing the dentist said was "You have your dad's teeth." That was not very reassuring. I am only 23 and my teeth are falling apart. Between my mom and dad, I am lucky I have any teeth at all. They have had nothing but problems all their lives.

I asked him about dental implants. He strongly suggested against it. He says it is better to keep the teeth. I thought to myself what good are my teeth if they are gonna cause me trouble all the time.

What can I do to slow down the decay process? I forgot to ask him while I was there. I know brushing, flossing, and mouthwash, but is there anything else i can do?

One thing... don't brush too hard. My mom used to brush vigerously every time, and now she has receeding gums because of the damage. So be careful in that respect.

Otherwise, I don't know. Drink a bunch of milk ?:)

What about getting your teeth bonded or capped off? That might be a good option. They can't rot/decay away anymore.

I do brush. It is crazy. At LEAST 2 times a day. I floss. I do the mouthwash. I just have really bad teeth.

Definitely get a Sonicare toothbrush!

I got one and my teeth are 100% better. They no longer bleed and because the toothbrush does all the work, your brushing time actually decreases....if in fact you do brush your teeth.

Definitely get one it's worth it. It was been one of the best purchases of my life.

Do you brush immediately after meals? And do you brush properly - start from the gum and brush vertically? That makes a hugh difference.

Get ACT Flouride mouthrinse. Use it daily. It is probably too late, but it'll never hurt. The flouride increases the enamel density and helps prevent cavities.

Quit drinking carbonated beverages - for some reason, the carbonation is terrible for your teeth. Drink MILK! and take calcium pills..
