I agree. I've been using it at work and it does not perform very well at all. Our fire wall is set up so as to not allow Real Player streaming media. I have to use it. Oh, well.
i like media player 7, my computer runs great, and i have not had it crash once. Actually, i am pushing a week and a half uptime right now on win98se =].
It's a decent program, but I still like 6.4. Version 7 seems to incorporate too much, and I just don't like the new gui(even though you can modify it back to the old version)
iamwiz82 - mine didn't crash, just slowed down. Just run like it was trying to drive through mud. everything took more time, even clicking start - programs took a few more seconds.
nope, i dont have that. I wouldnt expect it with 384 megs of ram either. i have had RC5 running before and after install, and i have nad no speed loss between the 2.
win media player 7 doesn't let me skip ahead in movie files. I have to watch everything from the very beginning. I don't know why. 6.4 which is still on my computer runs fine except it doesn't run certain files. I have to use both. its retarded.
Any of you who don't like windows media player should try global divx player. You can get it at download.com as I think www.gdivx.com has been down for awhile. This player is much better than WMP if you ask me.
I had to load WMP 7 to get some codecs, but other than that, I run the 6.4 version. It's still there. I just deleted wmplayer.exe and copied mplayer2.exe and renamed it.
Look at the exe size. wmplayer is about 350K and mplayer is 4.. Hmm, bloat?
wah, are you talking about moving within a file?? like fast forward type thing??
if it is what you are talking about, then you have an incomplete asf file. aka no more pr0n
