Set up a rig to explore Tor sites. All I found were conspiracy theories and links to things I didn't want to see.

One positive is the website design was circa 1999, so there's that.

The anonymity that Tor provides lets out the crazy apparently. It was like going to the freak show, look but don't touch.

The clearnet is vastly superior in every way. From the website design down to avalible content. Which I suspected would be the case.

There were also links that had been seized by the FBI. I've seen this before on Justin.tv

There's no Facebook on the Deep Web, so the score narrows considerably on that factor alone. And I can't buy weapons grade ebola on Amazon. Let's just say that both have their uses and call it a draw.

That is why the Feds created the Memex. So they could search the dark web instead of having to surf it.

90s web design is a feature. Less bullshit, and more content that doesn't rape your connection/cpu. I wish these forums were 90s design.

Yes!! Frames, animated gifs and blinking text make every site better. Oh, and a scrolling marquee. And a guest book. And awards, lots and lots of awards, then it's going to kick ass!!

Did 1990s sites auto-refresh your webpage ever yfew seconds to score ad impressions?

No, they autorefreshed so you would not be able to stop the goatse images + "I'M LOOKING AT GAY PORN" sound effects instead.

I don't remember that. Maybe the sounds were because you really were looking at gay porn.

Don't forget the visitor counters. Which were soon followed by "You are the (insert number here) visitor! You win a planet!" banners

I've ventured a bit on Tor, can find pretty interesting stuff. And yes, drugs. Found this site where you could order weed seeds and stuff with bitcoin lol. No, did not order.
