not to make this a racial issue, but for the record, my gf is hispanic and my friend was a black guy. the cops also told us that some of the cars were parked illegal and we needed to move them, saying some of us were double parked, blocking in cars. remember, this was a dead end and the only cars being blocked were people playing football, who had no problem with this.

i mean i understand they are 'doing their job' and that i guess, since it was next to a school, you aren't even ALLOWED to have the beer on the field, so technically i guess whoever brought the beer was in the wrong. the cop even said that if the beer was in the car he could have fined someone because it was 'next to a school' or some bs like that (maybe because it was parked near a public park, i forget).

but i mean, COME ON! give us a break! we weren't bothering ANYONE, we were just doing our annual football game! what a buncha bs, we still had fun though.

Drinking beer in public is rarely allowed anymore, even moreso on scholl property. Before you say you weren't drinking again, bear in mind that simply HAVING BEER OUT lends credence to the assumption someone WAS going to drink it.

If she fights it, she will win. There is no court that will hold that charge against her for sitting near the case of beer. That would be like trying to cite my 7 year old daughter with posession if I put my beer down next to her at the football game. That wont stick.

Give up the complaining about "we weren't messing with nobody etc..." Fact is at least ONE person was consuming alcohol in public. I assume that the 12 pack started as a full 12 that morning and when the cop showed up there were 3 gone. It's the law. Parking violations are not subject to time and location (unless posted). I'd be thankful that he didn't cite you for everything he could have and I'd not drink in public anymore. If you are not sure what the law is in regards to drinking in public, get with your local PD for an explanation.

You're GF is the only one that gets any sympathy. Everything else... the cop was right and lenient.
