My temperatures and 3DMark2001 score w/ Athlon XP 1800+

Just if anyone wants to know, here's my info for my new Shuttle AK31 v3.1/Athlon XP 1800+ information if you want some temperature and performance information. Nothing is overclocked except the video card.

3dMark2001 - 4721 (GeForce2 Pro/21.83 drivers @ 260/470)
System temperature (according to MBM 5.09, Winbond 1 chip) - 71F
CPU temperature with AS2, Thermalright SK-6/60mm 7K Delta (according to MBM 5.09, Winbond 2 chip) - 82F idle, 87F full load

That's a lot lower temperature than I expected, to be honest, and I'm wondering if it's correct at all. I guess I could open up my case and put my finger on the chip, but nah. 🙂 My Dad has a 1.33 GHz Thunderbird Athlon and it has a very high temperature, high enough that he bought the Swiftech HSF to see if he could lower it any. It's a little cold out right now here (37F), but I *AM* running at full load.

Any other figures people want? I know I wanted temperature info when I was building a system, so I hope this helps some people figure out how many and what kinds of fans they'll need for building, overclocking, or whatever.

Your 3dMark score should be FAR higher! You might be missing a small chipset driver but the potential of that system is well beyond the benchmark shown.

Your temp is VERY good if its accurate. But if its off the motherboard, chances are its not accurate 🙁 Try getting a temperature guage with a sensor you physically mount to the underside fo the chip then you will knows its an accurate reading.

Great system btw! 😀

I've got the 4-In-1 drivers installed (v4.34), and I don't think I'm missing anything. According to the ORB at MadOnion, I'm kicking butt in the 3D accelerator comparison (a GeForce2 Ultra is 94% of my score), and I'm on the top of the CPU comparison. This is 1024x768x32, no FSAA, BTW, so that might be why my score is way down there, no?

Oh well then my mistake. I have a geforce 3 but I didnt realize the difference on that benchmark would be so great.

Still a rockin machine you got there 😀
