Ok..like my DSL is always going down (another 4 day stint) and I have a problem syncing to the dslam.
Telocity just tested my line (co-op test) again, and they say that my line is perfect from the CO to my house (11,000 feet). They pick up bad noise as soon as they detect my modem, like as soon as its plugged into my data jack. They say its metallic noise and it could be a bad modem. The only problem with that theory is that this is my 3rd modem and I have always had this problem with Telocity. No exaggeration, I have had over 50 trouble tickets and 50 calls into tech support over the past 2 years.
Any ideas as to what can be causing the metallic interference or destroying my SDSL modems?
Also...I am not borrowing a pair from a phone jack. The line for my DSL goes directly from my NID to my data jack.
When I am up, it's great 374/374 on average and 0 packet loss. But most times I cant sync or if I do my packet loss is greater the 60% at all nodes.
And no I don't have the option to subscribe to cable or use another DSL provider because I don't consider Ameritech to be an option. I actually had their service and it was just as bad, but with worse speed.
HELP!
