I have to write some journal entries from the point of view of a musician in the 1960s. It's a sparse set of entries, 4 pages minimum and covers the entire decade. From the description:
Write a journal of what that person witnesses during your decade and their personal action, views of his life, and how he will face the rest of his life in America after his decade is over. Your journal should be expressive of the time period, but not overly long. Minimum of 4 pages.
Maybe that's just me, but it sounds like a really weird assignment. Oh well, nobody asked me.
So I'm trying to think of major things I can write about. So far I've written about Elvis's change(s), British Invasion, Woodstock, Miles Davis/the concept of Jazz Fusion. Now I'm running out of ideas. There were obviously a lot of great artists, but I can't just sit here and do a bunch of biographies. I think maybe I can say something about music's role in protesting the Vietnam War.
I dunno, any other ideas? Thanks guys.
