my taskbar is gone.

for some reason i can't get to my taskbar, ihave some programs that are only in the taskbar and it now gone and when i go to the properties, the hide inactive icons is grayed out....someone help pleaseeeeee
 
Can you see a thin grey line where it used to be? If so, move your mouse cursor to the edge until it turns into a two way arrow, then drag it back.
 
if you hit the windows key does your start menu still pop up? if it does, check along the edge of wherever the start menu came from, chances are it just got minimized to a sliver (like the above poster mentioned) and needs to be resized.
