1T/2T makes a big difference, but probably not in 3dMark. Thats why hes not seeing a large change.

But I had no idea anything over 245FSB@1T on the Asus was even possible? Is the issue fixed or what?

I think what you need Whizzzz, is a DFI (certainly will do anything that Asus will and a whole lot more, and overclocking I do think you are wasting your time on the Asus but it does decent for air OC's), and if you are running 4DIMMS.. GET A VENICE!

They improved the mem controller on them especially for 4dimms and tweaked performance.
SSE3, better overclocks and better temps (this might not apply to you since you are watercooling) are nice too.

If you arent bragging, I dont know what is.. you are the first guy in the SLI-league of performance (10K+ in 3dmark05) that is disappointed. Heh. Sorry if I see that as a roundabout way of bragging, but it kinda is to me.
"Look at my watercooled Ferrari, too bad it is kinda slow.... :(" LOL Get how I was taking it now?

After you get the board swapped, there are alot more advantages that Nvidia has in 3dmark that ATI cannot do that I can reveal to you if you do not know of them yet.

But if you are running 4dimms and overclocking, I would get a DFI and a Venice ASAP. I think you will be pleased by the results.

250s the number? I dont remember if mine was stuck at 250 or 245.. but thinking back I think you are completely right.. it was 250. I just ran 245 on mine for some reason..

I most certainly do. I've had this system for quite some time now, and I've experimented with every possible config you can think of regarding RAM timings and CPU settings. My system works best on 250 FSB 500 DDR at 2.5-3-3-7 2T (PC 4400 550DDR G.Skill), nothing else compares. I run Super PI and I get 25.05 seconds on the 32 MB test, and all this after trying hundreds of possible combinations, I can't do better. My RAM settings are at their peak performance.

Thanks for the compliment on my system.

Because I wanted to be able to have two sticks at 1T 550 DDR for some higher benchmarks. All four in dual channel 2T still works great. I had Corsair Twinx c2 PL before this RAM 2 X 512 and it doesn't compare to the G.Skill I have now. This RAM rocks and I have no regrets buying it.

Running 2T on an A64 system gives you a significant performance hit. IIRC, running 2T @300mhz is slower than 1T @ 200mhz.
Well, my current settings beat out 400 DDR 200 MHz @ 2-2-2-5 1T and any other settings I try. I'm not disagreeing that 2T is slower than 1T, but this board can't do 2T with four sticks in four DIMMS. As I mentioned earlier,my Corsair didn't perform better than this RAM.

Really though, I got the four sticks to experiment with 2-4 Dimms on this board.

Not really. There's a thread about it in the CPU forum... .5 - 3% with an Athlon-64... and less than 5% with a Sempron with 128k L2 cache.

>I will buy the DFI just for the hell of it, and I'll come back to let you know how I fair out.

Thanks

going from 1t to 2t on my system dropped my doom3 benchies 3 fps, 85 down to 82 at 1280x1024 ULTRA 4xAA 8xAF.

Just for the record, when you have four sticks on the A8N-SLI Deluxe at low MB's (256) and 2T, it will perform better than four sticks at 512 2T etc. The higher the MB's the worse it will be. I chose to use 4 X 256 MB's for this reason. The same holds true for 2 X 256 MB's at 1T, better than 2 X 512 MB's at 1T.
