I haven't upgraded in about 4 years. I will be doing so in the fall. I'm planning on getting something like a Q6600, 8800GTS 640 (or refresh) - or R600 - We'll see what the video cards bring to the table in 4-6 months. I can't wait - gaming sucks right now. I'm looking forward to finally being able to play COD2 and then looking forward to buying and playing FSX and Crysis (whenever it comes out).

If you have a CRT ? or are willing to drop resolutions on your LCD ? that can run more than you think.

I have a friend who has a similar setup (same gfx card, 3500+, 1GB RAM) and plays: CoD2 (dx9), Halo, Company of Heroes, F.E.A.R., HL2 + Ep1, etc.

It's all about dropping to 800x600 or 1024x768 if your system can manage it. I'm serious when I say you can crank the settings on CoD2 at that low a res. Really worth it if you are stuck with a poor system.

Oh, and I win: 500mhz iMac, 576mb RAM, ATI 128 Pro (8mb vram) ? I can't believe I clocked MOHAA and RTCW on this...
