My system no longer reads cards via card reader.

I bought the iOgear usb hub/card reader combo about 4 months ago and it was working fine until about 3 weeks ago. The USB part of it still works but the card readers dont work anymore, The card reader is recognized in My Computer and show up as four seperate Removable Disks since there are 4 slots for cards but if I put any cards in there, nothing happens, I am still able to connect my PSP in USB mode and my mp3 players in Disk Mode as well, so since I was about to get black faceplate floppy drive for my computer and I ran into the floppy drive/card reader combos at chiefvalue.com and ordered one for $25 shipped. It came in the mail today, I plugged it in and it is also detected but cards are not read for some reason, the floppy works, this thing plugs staight into the motheboard USB pins and the iOgear takes up one usb port since it is external. I am at a total lost since my system can read things as removable disk but does not take External multi-in-one readers. Any help appreciated since it will save me from reinstalling my entire system.

Following a hunch I tried the iOgear in my laptop and to my surprise it works, card reader and the usb hub.

What I meant was that now I am even more puzzled, my computer does not take card readers which is a pain. Guess I will have to reinstall Windows......again.
