My system continues to crach repeatedly....

Ever since I installed UT2004, I have had serious problems with my system

6800 GTO
P4 540 3.2 GHz
1GB SDRAM
250GB HDD

I should be able to play the game fine, but it constantly crashes my entire computer. After about the 9th time in three days, the game stopped working properly. Now whenever I load it, the game won't read mouse or keyboard input except trhough the console. It's like the game engine crashed, but the menus and console still work. Why is this happening?

does this only happen in the game, and when you uninstall it does it go away, and most importantly, whats your OS???

Im not sure on this but it could be a problem with directx, thats the only windows component i can think of that the UT2K4 install would mess with. Make sure you have directx 9.0c installed, then reinstall UT and don't install anything but the actual program, no directx, or other extras.
