Then I unplugged it for 5 mins and plugged it in again, and it has been working fine for a day now. Syntax is sending out a new PSU part. I guess I should go ahead and have them replace it even if the TV is working, since it could die again at any time, though I wonder what the tech will say.
on-site support hasn't come yet ?

I had this same problem with mine a while back. Wasn't very consistent. didn't happen for a couple of weeks then several times after. They sent a tech who replaced the Power Supply and it hasn't happened again.

Ok, the power supply has arrived, but the tech hasn't called. The phone guy said they would contact me.
Right now it's working. It dies once in a while, but after unplugging and replugging it works. Hasn't died in a while. I am going to wait till it dies then call the tech to come replace it.

Just a heads up, I still haven't had the tech replace the PSU. It's sitting on my desk. He said that Syntax has been flaky paying for his services, so that he would not be coming out unless they prepaid him. So draw your own conclusions. The main problem is that they just send you the PSU and tell you to schedule an appointment with an independent contractor, instead of taking care of that.

Wow, now THAT sucks ass. Except of course that I would be 100% happy with getting the part and replacing it myself.

I have the 27" syntax, also very happy with it so far. The service was one of the reasons I went ahead and bought it - reading online a lot of people had trouble with the remote sensor, and Syntax was sending techs out left and right to replace it. That impressed me - but of course I was assuming the techs got paid.. hahaha.

I bought it with my Amex so I have a 2 year warranty... around that point I figure I'll sell it anyway for whatever new might be out, and even then I figure I should be able to sell it for at least 2/3rds of what I paid for it.
