My class has a 4 unit and a 3 unit section. They are both at the same time (10-11:15) in the same classroom with the same teacher. The only difference is that the teacher makes the 4 units students do more work. I've never heard of such a thing in my life and didn't realize that a) there were two sections b) a 4 unit class could be 3 hours long and c) I was in the 4 unit section.

So I have to drop the 4 unit class to add the 3 unit class. She told us which section we were in last tuesday. Well suprise surprise, monday was the deadline to add/drop classes. Therefore I have to take a withdrawl from the 4 unit section, pay $20, get a bunch of paperwork signed and add the 3 unit section. :(

Also, there's a 1 unit CS class this teacher wants me to take (there's only 2 people signed up for it so far) and so I agreed to help him out. They are making me pay another $20 to add the class.

This is my last semester at college

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Is the extra work that bad? I mean, can't you just take the 4 credit class and forget the administrative nightmare?

Having multiple classes meeting at the same time with the same professor but with different homework levels is a fairly common experience. I did it many times when I was a student:
[*]Many chemistry labs were for chemistry majors as well as chemical engineers. The chemistry majors had ~30% more lab work and thus got one more credit. This happened in many other classes where people in the major and out of the major took different numbers of credits, but the only one I was in was the chemistry labs.
[*]Many classes were offered both as senior level/first year graduate level. As a senior you could take either option (graduate students could not take the senior level option). The class was the same but the graduate students required extra or more detailed projects.
