I think minimum you should be looking at $1k (and probably more like $5k) spend on speakers where you'd be justified spending that much on your card.

It seems that you can afford it, so I say go for it and do it right. A good audio system is going to hold its value a LOT better than anything else you've shown us.

I don't think you're going to reach him. He seems like the kind of guy who buys a $4000 computer with a $1000 CPU and $150 graphics cards... in SLI!

I looked up the price because I was confused. The cards he got are $630 each according to RTPE?

He's done what you're saying for audio, but I just figured he didn't know any better because people tend not to make as big a deal about sound. I think a lot of people think z-5500s / Promedia Ultra / Creative gigaworks are the best options out there.

So be it, I was sort of defending you at that point. I don't think many people here have a frame of reference to know what 10,000 SGD means.

I just looked at your old thread and about 5-6 different people told you not to get the Elite Pro because it would be wasted on your sound system. Your defense was that you had an excellent sound system. You do not. I've been trying to convince you that if you have the means to do so and a desire to get "the best" (which you've said a bunch of times already), spend some money on something that you actually will notice and might actually hold its value well. You'll even enjoy a good sound system if your priorities change and keeping up with the latest videocard and processor loses its appeal to you.

MS Dawn, who I think owns one and actually has equipment for it to shine even told you that you should not get it due to a variety of reasons.

Your response to all of them was along the lines of "is this the best?". It's not, but it's a very good card for gaming. If you wanted sound quality, you should have gotten the Elite Pro, but only after you dumped 5,000+ SGD? into your sound system where you would have quality components to possibly notice the difference in the output.

The way the Elite is better than the fatality is sound quality (and it seems creative doesn't have as high a priority on driver support on the Elite vs. the other X-Fi models). It seems like you compromised on it in order to get the "best" but just because it's the most expensive doesn't mean it's a good product for you to get. 5 or 6 people told you not to get it and why not to get it and you got it anyway.

Now I'm telling you that if you want to use it and have justification for getting the "best", you need to get some better speakers. Your excuses are you like your random 9.3 mix of multimedia speakers, you don't want large ones, and you like it how it is.

That's fine but why did you post this thread then? You post a picture and say "hi". Did you not want people to make intelligent observations and suggestions for you? I'm sure other members that read this are thinking "duh, he's a 15 year old that wanted to show off what he got" and that's fine, but I thought you might actually want some input to make your rig better. Maybe your friends wont appreciate it since upgrading your sound isn't something they care about, but I thought you might want to know there are better options out there and since you already wasted a few hundred SGD on that card, you might want to use it to its potential.

If you're a music fan, that's a great reason to at least get a quality 2.1 set going.

Before you decide if it's for you though, you could go into some AV stores in your area with a demo disk and test out some different systems in your pricerange (whatever that is). Decide if having a nice sound system is something that appeals to you or not.

Meh... it's all a waste of money IMO. Within a year, most of those components will be outdated to you since you seem like the kind of fella who needs to have the latest and greatest thing.

There's much more constructive things to do with the money... a lesser setup will play all the games perfectly fine and will cost you thousands less. Regardless... it was your money, and it was a waste of money.
