My strange LCD experience - plz read

Ok, here is the point: After a decent research in TFTs before buying (quite humorous to say though, this subject is ocean deep in knowledge and controversy some times) I bought the Sony HX73 monitor which is an AUOptronics 16ms equipped panel with 400cd/m2, 500:1 contrast, triple input (2 analogue - 1 DVI) and Sony's high pricing....

First thing that I still have it on the analogue till I soon (very soon, I promise!) ditch my anyway old Asus GF3Ti500. With all this in mind, I tried numerous games to check the eye's impression from the transition to TFT gaming. Result is that letting away Fifa2003 which presents some motion blur in fast, away screenshots, all others are extremely bright, crisp and ghost-free!

Where is the strange LCD experience?. Windows testing shows extreme blurring in most 2D like fast cursor moving over Solitaire's green background (a test I saw over in Tom's Hardware) or any window dragging with contents shown, action (let's say desktop properties).

Could this unexpexted stuff be due to the analogue connection? Does it happen inevitably to all TFTs despite the type of connection?? I always thought the major problem with blurring appeared in fast 3D gaming like FPShooters (UT2004, Quake, Max Payne etc.) not in window dragging....Or is it the human eye that catches the one and misses the other??

It is apparently my first LCD experience and I 'd really appreciate your answers....

The DVI connection may help, but what you're experiencing is normal for an LCD. Your eyes/brain need to adapt to it, that's all. Ghosting is the downfall of the LCD unfortunately. Your eyes will thank you for it in the long run tho.

Fine and well known as I stated in my post, but in 2D????😕
How can there be monitors tested by Anandtech -read the Samsung172X latest review in the subjective analysis page ("streaking and ghosting on DVI: 5/5, none")- rated like this then?
Shouldn't this trouble be absent in Windows enviroment since it is in 3D due to the low Rtime??
Sorry but I don't get it.....🙁

Of course it happens in 2D as well, it happens no matter what. The LCD is just displaying whatever your graphics card feeds it, whether it's a 2D image or 3D. If you read the reviews carefully you will notice that they often test DVD playback for ghosting, which is a 2D operation.

They probably gave that screen a 5/5 because it had no visible ghosting. I guess the newer screens at 12ms have improved to the point where you can't see it. I mean, my 25ms screen is fine for me and I barely notice ghosting in games.

Sure you'll get ghosting in 2d also. I'm running a Viewsonic vp171b and love it, however when I scroll text it a window it is very blurry while it's moving. It is kinda annoying but you get used to it, and like SickBeast says your eyes will thank you in the long run.

@ sodchaos: DVI or analogue connected?

Maybe it's present at 3Dgaming then too, but our eyes can't catch it so easily like in simple 2D tasks....
As for Anandtech's 5star rating for the Samsung and the Dell under DVI, it might refer to the signal ghosting and not the RT ghosting better known as motion blur (which is what we are always discussing since signal ghosting is disappeared in todays quality screens- even under analog connection)

Nothing special.
Same 16ms AUO panel.
Sony HX73's 400cd/m2 is too bright for normal usage.
Viewsonic VP171 is cheaper.
And the Viewsonic parrots logo looks nice.
