It looks pretty good but needs optimization in the graphics engine: 1024x768 8xAF 30fps... usually smooth looking but drops to 20fps in some scenes.

Looks like a fairytale-book. ...and that's a compliment. It's so hard to know what part of the graphics are done by HDR/Shaders. As you know, I'm in a deep conflict between X800XT/6800Ultra
 
Done only 2 since I have to leave now, but there you can see the difference, they are in the second post in the same link ok?
I notice there's only 1fps of differece between HDR and non-HDR modes in complez scenes, which looks promising... I'm sure new drivers and graphic engine optimizations will make it a very good choice.

Also I don't know if HDR is there for X800 users in this game, someone may download and post 😀

Those pics look great. I just hope they optimize the graphics engine before it's released, but it looks doubtful at this point. Large companies (like EA) are so lazy with their PC ports these days: the original Splinter Cell was a pretty good port, but the second Splinter Cell: PT wasn't so great of a port.
 
I got leaked demo just 2 days b4 it was public and i ran it 1600x1200 and maxed all but i said in other thread the eax etc was shaded out (run ZS) and hardware shadow tab was also, i was happy and now i want the game. 🙂
 
Hmm, where is HDR in this game, its setting i missed or cmd line like farcry? and again why is hardware shadows missing in my settings on a 6800ultra.
 
ive just been playing, put everything high, SM3.0. dunno if HDR gets applied as a rule when u switch from SM1.1 to 3.0, but i presume it does.
anyway the only thing i didnt have on was hardware shadows or something, i didnt know what it did, but i dont think it makes a diff to performance (though i think it will some where)

anyway i played 12x10, max settings, on my 6800GT at 400/1100. oh and i used 4xAF, i was gettin the same frames as the OP, its playable even below 20fps, seen as its a slow game. eliminating some of the light sources, by shooting out lights, does wonders for performance, the frames pick righ up once a few lights have gone. got some really neat effects on the night vision lens, some very nice textures, HDR is a little disapointing you can see it in places, but its not as good as far crys can be. this is a beautiful game to look at, and i already decided im gonna buy it when it comes out.

just needs optimising by the looks of things, and also new nvidia drivers will make sure all is well. so id expect it to be a bit smoother than it already is

i see no SM2.0b path? dunno if it just didnt show coz i dont have a ATi card, but if the only options are 1.1 and 3.0 then Ati owners could possibly miss out on some nice graphics. but get better raw speed

with that set up i was getting 15fps at the lowest and that was for a brief few seconds, the FPS generally hovered in the 20-40fps area, going up to 50-60 when some lights are gone. also seems the limit is 100FPS, if u put on night vision, the fps jus maxes out in some spots to 100.

this and GT4 for PS2 is on my games to buy list. good job my b'day is in march
 
Yes i had same tabs doing nothing but games was fine at max settings @1600x1200 and there is reports all over web about not favouring ATI thats why only shader 1 and 3 avail lol, another little deal done with a card manu and software maker.

Ok so HDR was on with shader 3.0 choosen ?, and why no shadwo tab avail i submise same as eax as its demo, hmm
 
I just DLed it as well.

I tell you Disabling SM3.0 and going with 1.1 did wonders for my performance.

@800x600, no AA/AF, but all other in game settings on high, my framerate went from

18-43

More than doubled, just for changing to SM1.1. These are pics with framerates included using fraps, but they are at 800x600, sorry bout that.

Noticed some really weird artifacts on walls at times, but you can only tell when you are in motion, sort of looks like a reflection, but isn't.
 
Holy cr@p!! Even at 800x600 it runs slow as hell on SM3.0! I thought SM3.0 was made mainly to improve performance! But the graphics look darn good, best I've ever seen in a 3rd person game. I hope they (both nVidia and Ubisoft) optimize the framerates, because I don't wanna play on sm1.1.

A little gamma correction would have been nice, but thanks anyway. Maybe i will just do the gamma myself to look.

BTW, if this engine (anyone know which one?) is running SM3, did they shoot for PC to eventually strip schtuff out for console (unlike past SCs)? Like they should, i should add. 😉

Here are some better pictures with fixed gamma. At least they looked better in my monitor.

This time, they were taken at 1024x768, everything else is the same.

Here is a picture of the artifacts I mentioned earlier: Artifacts.JPG
These only happen with SM1.1, it is cleared up with SM3.0.
Textures have a translucent banding on them on the right with horizontal bands and on the right with stair-step looking band.

It's noticeable with 1.1 when you stand still without AF, but with AF, you have to be in motion to notice.
 
I'm back, I have changed my case to a TT armor, this case is sweet. I'm waiting for memory (now with 256mb) so I can't take more screenshots, anyway keep info coming 😉
 
dang game crashes when i get to the door on the back of the light house. the minute i open it the game crashes to desktop. NO FAIR! i have got some pretty decent SM3 vs SM1 shots though
