My sound is so soft...

I have a Hercules GTXP, and labtec pulse speakers. My master volume is full, but my dvds sound so soft, however my AIM is blasting away, how can i fix it?
 
Open up the volume control and go to options then properties and make sure there is not a seperate control for the dvd volume. that is the only thing I can think of.
 
Some DVD playback SW sucks in the sound dept. The SW that came with my old geforce card sucked unless I chose spdif. Try a different playback SW.

its the way the dvd software is, the sound is always low, and youre right, someone comes in on AIM and its like you knocked down the damn door.

there isnt no dvd sound volume option, would have been cool.

just crank it up, and kill AIM😉 i think its cuz its meant for digital out to a receiver, and trying to move away from desktop speakers, since it is 5.1
 
DVD volume often "seems" low in comparison because there is a wide dynamic range. So yeah, normal speakers and amp are necessary (as opposed to typical toy ones for PC's).
