You have just confirmed your stupidity when it comes to understanding animals and the enviroment. I'm sure you're educated on every different species of wasp in your area too. 😉

And they do not attact without cause - they are protecting themselves and their nest from what they see as a threat.
When they put that nest 2 feet from my back door and every time I walk through my back door, they consider me a "threat," then that little wasp and I are going to have a little problem, ok? Get a fscking clue...

Would you live with snake holes too? Just curious.

Snake holes? 😕

I have many snakes in my yard, most are harmless. I have only seen them in the day time when moving my grass because they are fleeing from my lawn mower (although some have gotten caught in it 🙁 ). If I see a snake that is dangerous, I just walk away from it, or try not to get in it's way. Most of the time though, they'll run from you, so I don't see what the problem is.

Why do people cave into irrational fears and thinking when it comes to animals that could possibly be a threat? Hell, by that mind set, I need kill as many people as I can because there is a possibility that one of them could kill me too.

Wow, without a doubt the dumbest rant I've ever seen. Have you ever killed a spider? Pressure washed your house and blown away spider webs? Spiders are good for people too you know... But that's different I guess.

They take out a LOT of nuisance insects like flys and such. I have then around the house and never bother them because they leave me alone. I recommend that you take a can of RAID and spray your FIL with it to educate him as to what it feels like to be one of his victims. BTW he just saved the lives of countless bugs that humans hate. I hope they bite him for you.
Yea, that's what the wasp is (I'm in FL too) - I just didn't know what it was called. 🙂 Thanks! 🙂
Uh... around here, wasps are nasty little aggressive things that live to bite and sting any human being foolish enough to walk within 20 feet of its nest. Not beneficial at all.
Wow - you are dumb. Wasps are some of the most benificial insects you can have in your garden.
Unless you have some proof (i.e. a website), you are merely asserting this.

<a href="http://www.landcareresearch.co.nz/research/biosecurity/stowaways/faq.asp">http://www.landcareresearch.co.nz/research/biosecurity/stowaways/faq.asp</A> Read" What do wasps eat?"

Also: <a href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=wasps+beneficial&spell=1">http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=wasps+beneficial&spell=1</A>

Geeze, I swear, one must always prove themselves because of idiots like you.

Ok, I guess I'm not educated on the ecology of the garden but calling me an idiot is downright hypocritical. By coming onto this forum and making a whole fuss/rant about something so miniscule such as your father-in-law killing a wasp proves this.

Do you not have anything else to do with your time?

Dude, it's an online forum where I am expressing a thought. It's not like I'm distraught, just the thought of it pissed me off. Now, if I was going to my local news stationg about it, that would be a different story. 😉

Guess it's good I don't have a garden then. There's plenty of space for wasps/mud daubers/etc... to make nests, my front & back doors are not one of them.

Although you do have a refreshing mentality that I have only seen in very very few people, I dont mess with wasps. Maybe its the city boy in me who rarely sees a wasp, but they look like mutated bees on crack to me. If theres a bee in my room he'll feel the pain of a airsoft bb splitting him in half (its not as hard as it sounds), so Im not even gonna mention what Id do to a nest full of wasps.

But if they dont bother you, more power to you man. I guess you could give your FIL a mouthful, but you have to understand that your way of seeing things when it comes to wasps is probably in the vast minority. He thought he was doing you a favor.

One time (at band camp) this area of our house near a window had wasps (or maybe they were yellowjackets) nests. We left it for a really long time (like longer than a year) and those damn wasps ate a whole so the only thing seperating them from the inside of our house was the thin paper of the drywall. We got rid of them then. As a result of that hole going directly through out house, we also got a bad case of the side of our house rotting because the water would absorb through and never dry out. Very expensive damage.

Thats my story.

Are you a hypocrite or what? How many poor defenseless little bugs have you killed with your car? How many of those insects were trying to provide for their offspring? You heartless b1tch. 🙂

Anywho, that's crazy of your FIL to back over that deer to put it out of it's misery. But what should he have done? Taken the tire iron and beat the life out of the wounded deer? Or should he have just left it to die a slow painfully death? What would you have done, put it in the back seat?

There's a big difference between intentional and unintentional.

I would have killed it, but not run the damned thing over multiple times until I tought the thing was dead. :disgust:

How would you have killed it if you didn't have a gun or a knife?
