I have a Sony Vaio pcg- f370 laptop. Latly after I run it a few hrs, the back ground in explorer windows goes pink? What gives? Works fine until this. Still operates ok, just the color makes it hard to see what I'm looking at. Any one else seen this problem?

I imagine the "pink" you're seeing is probably actually magenta. The three primary colors are red, blue, and green (for light). Red + blue = magenta, which suggests the green signal for the display is damaged somehow (those of you with color level controls can confirm this behavior by turning your green way down). This will most likely require the LCD screen to be replaced (not cheap, but not difficult or unheard of).

If you open a full-screen command prompt and the colors are still off hue, or if you take a magenta screen shot that shows up normally elsewhere, it is most certainly a physical problem with the display. Does the behavior also show up if you use an external display?

I have not checked it on a exturnal display. Will have to check it. it did this the other day, but it cleared up. Thought it might be a virus?

If the external display does not display the same problem (highly doubt it will)
it is more than likely the FL invertor is going bad (common problem with Vaio laptops).

Would this still act like mine is, working for while then go pink? It does fine in 16 bit color, but the picture sucks...lol

Hey, I just plugged up a crt to my output and the pink went away on the laptop screen? Is this normal if the FL invertor is going out?
