My Sony receiver says PROTECTOR?!?!?!

its the STR-DE625 model
and we just hooked up a NEW Mitsubishi WS55807 TV and now the receiver keeps on flashing PROTECTOR on it...what the hell is that
we have tried unplugging it and leaving it for a few mins, reseted the whole system and nothing it keeps on flashing that

anyone seen or have this problem b4??

Yeah, it means something is shorting out on the unit.. double check all your wiring, speaker wires especially, make sure none of the wires are touching each other.. I've also had a unit do that when it was just going bad.. I had to replace it.. but check the wiring first.. thats the most likely cause.

My Sony reciever flashes that... It was shorted, mine needs a few resistors replaced on the speaker outputs.

Yes, but you aren't sure that's your problem, it's just my problem. Unplug everything from it (speakers, inputs, antenna, etc.) except power, and turn it on. If it still flashes that, you've got problems.

so how do i fix this thing??
