ASUS EAX1600PRO SILENT How is this card, he now has a x800xl pcie and spidy wont play on it. Any opinions or reviews on this card?

How does it compare to his x800xl?

About the only good thing about the X1600 Pro is SM3... otherwise it will offer significantly lower performance than the X800XL. The X1600 series were really pathetic; they have only 4 TMU's.... the X800XL has 16 TMU's and is much faster in the vast majority of games.

If you want a good, low cost card I'd recommend the 7600GT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130062

EDIT: I just saw this, but actually a better deal for $119 would be the 8600GT, this is a steal:

The 7600GT is around the speed of an X850XT (slightly slower~). The 8600GT is slightly (in some games like Oblivion the difference is huge) faster in most games than the 7600GT. So yes, it will be faster than your X800XL. The DX10 is a nice bonus for future games.

I don't know about trusting Tom's GPU benchmarks. Every benchmark I've seen suggests the 7600GT is a good deal faster than the 6800GS which competed in performance with the X800XL.

And the 6800GS was the replacement for the 6800GT. It had less pixel pipelines (12 vs 16) but higher clockspeeds, and performance is almost identical.

If you want a decent GPU then get a X1950pro for $150 which will beat the crap of X800XL. If you are looking at 8600GTS range then look no future than X1950XT 256MB because it stomp over 8600GTS like a bug. But you will need a decent PSU for X1950XT and shappire version of X1950pro. Powercolor X1950pro is the best choice me think : ) but make sure you have a 12V Rail.

Why Consoles are BAD? I have PS2 adapter which converts to PC mouse and keyboard,
works better and on full screen, you decide which game to play by joystick and which
by PC Keyboard-Mouse, is thise SIMPLE?
