I was sitting here with my laptop a little bit ago, and my son wanted to see what I was working on, so I showed him an application I'm working on. He then wanted to see some of the "programming words" (ie: code), so I showed him a little snippet I was working on...

Then, with one simple line of code that I added to show him how things worked, I elicited a resounding "Coooooooool!!!" from him and my daughter who was also looking over my shoulder at that moment when I clicked on the button I added to the app. (The button did nothing impressive, just changed the value in an edit box.)

Just thought I'd share.

Don't you just love it :)

My 8 year old son did something similar when I was jamming to a Black Sabbath tune, he looked at me and started singing "I am Iron Man" <guitar hero>

I bought him a Les Paul Jr for Christmas :D

I told my 2.5 yo that Father's Day was coming up and I asked him who his favorite father was: He said his uncle (my brother). :(

Not so cool once he grows up, finishes writing the 500th line and finds it won't run cause he left out a freaking bracket somewhere. Thank god for debugging/error detection.

I'll take em for a bag of pucks and your 1st round draft pick next year and future considerations ;)

lol, when I sit with him before putting him to bed I ask him who he loves; usually only the dog wins but sometimes he does say he loves his brother.

He really loves his personal space and if you try to hug or kiss him he usually responds with a "Heyaaaah" and an attempted karate chop.

Take them! The oldest (2.5yrs) will jump on you whenever you're lying down, the middle (1.5yr) will follow suit, and the youngest (1/6yr) will win at a staring contest.

Oh Yea, he looked at me like "Dad, YOU made THAT song!!!"

He's heard me play guitar his whole life, but it wasn't until we got Guitar Hero last year that he started "listening" to me play. It cracks me up that he knows all these classic rock songs now, and now, he's a total poseur on the guitar...he's got all the moves, but needs work on his chops...I love it (I started playing when I was 9)

I guess this constitutes a bulk purchase (over 10 pounds).

Throw in the wife and we have a deal........ can't take care of the crew with out da wife ;)
