Since the power outage last night, the thing beeps every 15 seconds or so. On your average smoke detector, this means the battery is dead. However, mine is powered by the apartment electrical system.
How the #$%#$%#$%#! do I shut this thing up!?!?!?!
I wasn't positive the sound was coming from the smoke detector, but the short sharp sound was hard to get a good fix on. It seems that it is the carbon monoxide detector plugged in under the table below the smoke detector.
Now I just have to figure out how to shut the damn thing up!
911: this is 911
Me: ummm there is this dude..on a message board. He isn't posting. I think he's dead.
911: where is he?
Me: ummm i don't know. I just know him from the messageboard
911: well if you don't know who he is or where, we can't get him the help he needs
Me: oh. Well, he's probably dead anyway...sorry to bother you.
hmm i got to go buy 2 c cells for my mini boom box;
yesterday witht the power out,i had to caveman rig an old car radio,to a half dead car battery
so i could listen to the news!
Lucky i am sortof a lazy packrat.
the battery i was going to recycle, near a year ago
i was at a party at a friends house a few weeks ago and we kept hearing a beep. we asked him what it was, the conversation went like this:
"its the carbon monoxide detector"
"battery low?"
"nope, i just changed it"
"then what is it?"
"its carbon monoxide i guess"
"oh, ok"
