My Smashed Oakleys

I came back to school tonight only to find an AIM message from my mom saying that after I left she saw my smashed Oakley case by where my car is parked, meaning it dropped out of a bag and rolled under my car before I pulled out over it. :(

So anyway, my Oakleys are smashed in the Oakley Protective Case. Does anyone know their return policy? I read that it's only for manufacturing defects but I remember a thread a while ago that sometimes the individuals working at the Oakley Support are cool and will help you out even if it is your fault.

Thank you for any hope you can provide,

CK

(Already anticipating the people saying I was crazy to pay for Oakleys in the first place :()

You weren't crazy to buy Oakley's I love my FrogSkin's. They're not $9.99 ghetto Walmart and not $300 trendy's.

I broke my pair of eye jackets and all you have to do is call the Oakley Customer Service hotline and they will fix/replace them for $25.00. That is what the guy at Sunglass Hut told me. I called them and all you have to do is send in the glasses with a check for $25.00 and they will fix/replace them. I havent sent them in yet, but I will as soon as I get some time. Must study for finals now.

oakley has a good return policy. if you can dig up your reciept it will be easy. u just have to send it back with 20 dollars(since its obviously not a defect) and they send you back a new pair:) without reciept its more difficult.. go to their website and email em. is what i did.

Dude! Why don't you just go into the city and pick up some $5 Oakley knockoffs from your friendly local street merchant? Most people can't even tell the difference.

Thanks for the replies, all. If it only costs $20-$25 I will be happy. They are the new thin-framed A-Wires which are about 6 months old. Hopefully everything will work out alright with customer service, thanks for your help. :)

I have sent off a couple of Oakleys to have them repaired, and they come back looking like brand new.

I bought some Mosimo (sp?) sunglasses from Target for $17 and the frame is great. Something else is there are a model of Ray Ban sunglasses that look almost identical to them. Forget spending $80+ for a pair of sunglasses.

If you are speaking about the sunglasses that people sell that actually have the Oakley O on them, they are still real Oakleys, at least the frames are. People broke into a shut down Oakley factory and got huge quantities of the frames. Then they add in a cheap lens and sell them on the street. I personally owned a pair of fakeleys and currently own a pair of true Oakleys. The difference is pretty huge, just go outside with them and you can tell what the money you paid goes to. The frames are cheap, it's the lens that makes the price jump.

In my experience they do not even ask for a receipt, and they will not care how they were damaged. I had warranty repair and replacement twice when I had E-wires a few years ago.

I have sent back 4 pairs of broken Oakleys and they sent me new ones free of charge, BTW the Eye wear shop at the mall will give you a free UPS package to put them in to send back.

mm.. I think they will fix/replace them ONLY for the damages on the FRAMES not on lenses itself. I have them repaied before they won't replace my scratched up lenses. :(

AMEESH... how much were your prescription sunglass from oakley?? are they polarized?? I wanna get a pair for my gf for her graduation gift.

Call up and ask them. Some companies have life time guarantee policy covering product regardless of how it was damaged. An example of that is some kitchen knife you can get from tele-shopping. If you damage it for any reason(i.e. accidentally running it through garbage disposal), they'll replace it.

Tell them you broke it and ask what they can do for you.

Don't feel bad. I completely broke my laptop a few years(100% my fault too) ago and nobody fixed it :(

If this is true it is a recent change. I had them replace the iridium lenses on my e-wires with no hassle. I think you may have to pay a separate charge for this, though; I do not recall.

I had a pair of Eye Jackets that were real and I checked out a fake pair. The main difference was the lenses. The other difference was that the real ones had eye jacket imprinted on the ear piece and the fakes didn't

You get what you pay for as far as eyewear goes. I just bought another pair of Ray-Bans over the weekend. They are well worth the $110 I paid for them. I've been wearing Ray-Bans since I was like 14. The only way I'd go for cheap glasses are if they are still reputable but on closeout, like those $40 Nikons you see in Hot Deals sometimes. Once you've had quality glasses cheap ones won't cut it anymore.
