since i got fired from my job, i've been staying up late, and waking up late.
its used to be go to sleep around 2-3AM, then it became 3-4AM, now i only get tired when its like 5-6AM. i then have an alarm set off at noon. i don't take naps in daytime. if i don't set my alarm i wake up like 2-3PM.

hmm.. this kinda makes sense, i think. =), hopefully i can contain to urge to take a nap midday, which would defeat the purpose. but seriously, i don't think i could function without sleep, i tried that once for my finals, and by the time i was done for the day for finals, around noon, i was dead tired. i kept nodding off when i was driving. and i was so tired, that i could'nt go to sleep. i was that tired. heh.

i think ill try it though, its not like gonna do any thing important tomora

Sometimes this happens to me. I call it "rebooting the system." Basically you have to stay up for one full sleep cycle. The best way to do this is to go somewhere where you aren't going to "probably" go to sleep. Go see an action movie or something, find something that will help to keep you awake. Now, they key is that when the time you should be going to sleep comes around and you start to get tired, you need to go to bed immediately, if you don't you will get a second wind and you will lose your "chance." Good luck.

its in this months psychology today magazine. ur body should self correct if u don't light your bedroom uber bright, and u don't take naps and don't go to bed ultra early. a little suffering for the first day obviously

that made sense. once i was while back ago, was tired like 10:30, 11PM, way too early for my bedtime. so i just stayed up as usual, but when 1-2AM came around, i wasn't as tired and sleepy as i was before.

0roo-roo, are you saying i should keep my room not as bright?? cuz i have an overhead light right now, its always bright with it on. i also have a lamp. its 4:30am now, should i just turn on my lamp when its dark ?

from what i've read, its bad to have bright lighting in your bedroom or whatever rooms you reside in at night. they use bright light to reset peoples body clocks in sleep therapy after all. you could use a dimmer or just buy mood/indirect (low wattage light bouncing off walls, or small units in fogged glass enclosures to beused in groups etc) lighting to send light where u need it. you can find em at ikea or wherever.
