My skin gets dried out after my showers...

If you don't like dry skin, don't use irish springs. That soap always dries out my skin. I like the smell though. Somehow I used that soap for 5 years until just switching recently. Being shocked everytime you touched something has a funny way of changing a man.

HI,

I'm not sure if you'd be willing to try this, as it seems more of a female thing, but it will work. Oil of Olay's Body Wash (the one I use is for dry skin) works excellent for helping to eliminate dry skin. My brother suffered the same thing and tried my suggestion (Olay) and it worked for him too. It's not anymore expensive than any other skin care body wash as you can usually find it for less than $3.50 at Wally world.

So it's just a soap too? (not a lotion or anything)?

I found an old stick of lip moisturizer in my snowboard stuff and I've been putting it on my skin around my mouth (not my lips though).

Hot damn, that thing is pretty sweet. So far so good@! But that doesn't really help if my forehead or something else is dry so I'll still need to get whatever else is needed

I used Ivory but that cleans skin TOO well. So I've been using Dove for over a month and no change. I will look for moisturizer next time I go to Safeway, thanks!

Wtf are you talking about?

I thought this was a parody too.

...because they both contain the word "shower"?

Shorter showers, cooler showers. Get some vitamin E, as well as some some large bulk lotion. It doesn't take much to keep your skin not-dry.

My skin gets white in some areas because it's so dry after I dry off from a shower. I usually take them at night between 10-4am. I never had this problem before.

The corner of my mouth got so dry that cracked a little bit and it bled a little.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this? I don't want my skin falling off in the future!

Don't use any soap or body wash. Just rinse your body using a washcloth, so your natural skin oils stay intact. Reserve the soap for places like armpits - er.. and other regions.

If you're taking extremely hot showers, lower the heat a little.

And if it's city water, it might have a lot of chlorine in it that you're sensitive to. Can't do much there unless you want to run your water through a filter before it fills up the tank. So just reduce how long you take the shower.
