You probably have to re-create the ADOBE Font List.

To re-create Adobe font list files in Mac OS X:

1. Close InDesign and any other Adobe applications.

2. Choose File > Find, and do one of the following:

-- In Mac OS X v10.1.x, click the hard drive icon at the top of the Sherlock window, type Adobefnt in the text box, and then click the magnifying glass.

-- In Mac OS X v10.2.x or 10.3.x, choose Local Disks from the Search In menu, type Adobefnt in the text box beside File Name Is, and then click Search.

3. Select the file, and choose File > Move to Trash.

4. Repeat steps 2-3 for the files Adobefnt05.lst and Adobefnt06.lst.

5. Restart InDesign. InDesign re-creates the font list files during startup.

im going to let her tell you what she does...
------------------------------------------------------------------
(the fonts are on the hard drive)
When I open files in InDesign my fonts won't load even if they are in suitcase (I have Font Reserve at home and it works perfectly) and active or if auto activation is on.

If I close the file and reopen it a gillion times sometimes they will load on the 4069457361 time I open it.

Note I am also hooked up to a faulty network and running programs and operating systems I shouldn't be running (work likes it that way) : D
