My sister-inlaw got a Black Friday pc and is thinking of returning it

$390 isn't bad. Too bad it's a 15" LCD in the mix. You're call. You could probably get something about twice as good if you spend an extra $150 on top of that $390...

There is nothing special about that deal. Heck, you can go right not to HP/Compaq's website and order almost the same thing for the same price. Thus, don't think you should keep it because it is a good deal. Only keep it if you want a computer with those specs for that price. A little more money (or a little effort in finding a great deal) could get you a far better computer.

If it was a laptop thats very close to one of the decent deals I saw.

But sounds like a desktop, which makes it not so good.

for $60 more, you get can a Dell Dimension C521. Amd Athlon 64 3200+, 512RAM, 80GB drive, 17" LCD, Windows XP(vista upgradable) and free shipping.

I'd pass and go for some of the Dell specials. I bought a PC for about $400 with a 19" monitor that is far better. DVD burner, 1GB memory, etc.

Celeron D 352? Either you mis-typed or that has the old desktop-based Celeron CPU. Uber-pass on that one.

If it is a Celeron M, much better option.

$390 is cheap, you get what you pay for.
