my sister almost got scammed on craigslist

DaWhim

Lifer
she has no selling experience.

she called me asking me to look up where the fedex office so she could drop it off. I missed her call and she couldn't find the location. after talking to her more, she said something about the buyer's fedex account. I smelled fishy here, then asked her more.

the shipping address was to NG. she said she got the money from bidpay.com. so I googled that. "BidPay (formerly Western Union Auction Payments)"

lucky, she didn't ship it out.

must've been a spoof bidpay payment or something then. I've had no trouble with bidpay at all, it's quick and easy with no fees for the seller.

from what ive researched, alot of these scammers use loopholes through "legit" business (westernunion, bidpay, etc) to run there scams.....
