My sig gets messed when I try to put an e-mail link in it

Hello, I try to put this in my signature...
dw03@hotmail.com

but after I press update profile it turns to

w03@hotmail.com(use this one)">dw03@hotmail.com

is it because i had a "😀" it think's its supposed to be a smilie? Could this be resolved or should I just add a space?
