A month or so ago I started having issues while burning DVDs on my computer -- Windows would lock up and I would have to reboot. During one of these reboots I got the message: "Error loading OS..." Initially I thought it could be a DVD drive hardware issue...but I dont know about that anymore...
After trying to reboot a couple more times, I decided to throw the XP cd in there and do a boot from CD. I let it go through its "Press any key to boot from CD..." routine, but didnt press any keys...then it was able to boot into Windows...and since then, that is the ONLY way I could get into Windows.
I figured that something was screwed up with the Windows install, so eventually I reinstalled, but I am having the exact same issue. I have no clue what is causing this. I tried the fix I found by googling, which was to change the BIOS HDD setting to LBA instead of auto, but I still cant boot into Windows without the cd in there.
Any ideas out there on how to fix this?
