I have a shuttle sk83g system... the cpu fan is making an annoying slight grinding noise, no matter what speed it is on. No, nothing is grinding against it, it seems like the motor in it is going bad or the like.
soo.. the big question. Can it be replaced fairly easily? taking it apart isn't the problem, finding the proper fan is. It looks like it is a bit bigger than 80mm, but smaller than 92mm (although this is to my naked eye w/ no reference, could be 80mm), and it is definately thinner than your average fan.
also, would adding a drop of oil to the motor help? I've never done it, but as i understand, you just need to peel off the label and put a drop in.. but what sort of oil?
