SetiSpy is a program that gives you a ton of information about your SetiClient. It tells you information about your processor speed, even updates your user info! First, you download it and place it in the directory that your seti client directory resides in. Then you can create a shortcut and move it to your desktop. It MUST run in the directory that your client runs, to use to correct files.
Info about each button :
- Progress - Shows you your progress along with your estimated time, approx percent per hour and your speed (in MFlops/Sec)
- Performance - Based off averages, it shows you your processing power and percent per hour.
- Results - You can see the results of your work units processed.
- Work Unit - Current information about the work unit that you are using. By clicking SkyMap you can see exactly where it was recorded. It also tells you the AR; so you can use what you know to find out how long it might take (very low AR's take longer).
- User Stats - Shows you your updated stats, from the last time it updated them. WARNING : If you use a queue to upload your results, and if you have it update your results when you submit a WU; they may be off. If the queue is backed up your stats could be up to a day behind. Never fear though, because you can tell it to update them after a certain number of hours also.
- Client - When you click configure you are given some options.
--> Client Path -> The location where your client is located.
--> Client Parameter(s) -> You can add -proxy (
name of proxy server) here and then it will use a proxy. Consult the documentation for the client you are using.
--> Client Window Title -> The name that the client will show.
---- Keep alive ----
--> Keep SETI@Home cient alive -> Will check to see if the client isn't running; and will restart it if it doesn't update it.
--> Check interval -> Interval the program checks to see if the client is alive.

--> Restore Client Minizmied -> Restores the Client after its been minimized
--> Start client on SETI Spy Start -> Self Explanatory
--> Stop client on SETI Spy Exit -> Self Explanatory

--- Display ---
--> Pretty much self explanatory.
--- Client ---
--> Client idle timeout (min) -> This is how long it will wait before declaring your client idle. It does this by checking the state file and seeing if it updates or not.
--> Client poll interval (sec) -> How often it update the status.
--> Ignore presence of state file on startup -> Ignores the state file found, figuring that it isn't updated.
--> Ignore empty state file -> Ignores a state file with no data.
--> Calibrate -> Don't really have to worry about this. If you want more info on it contact the creator.
--- Update ---
--> Notify me when a SETI Spy update is available -> Will check periodically to see if a new version of the program has been released.
--> Auto update user stats every __ hours -> If you use a proxy, your stats will be behind in time most likely. This will update them every __ hours.
--> Auto update user stats when returning results -> When a WU is completed it will check and update your stats.
--> Auto-connect to internet for user stats updates -> If you have an always on internet connection (DSL/CABLE/LAN) check this. If you use dial-up, don't.
--- Logging ---
--> This area just lets you save pictures of results that may have some value.
--- Proxy ---
--> If you don't know what this area is don't mess with it
