My Seti doesnt work Help

I've got about 1300 WU. I cannot connect anymore, it asks me to set up again, i do the same thing, Hit 2 and my email address. It's still an @home one.

It says no such file or directory. I am using the correct email, and i can check my stats by it. Im under tedinde@home.com email, and user name just "ted" in team anandtech. I've tried everything.

Im using the commmand line. It does the same whether i use the seti site or orangekids, Nothing.

Help please. Im doing WU now in 2 hours. P4 @ 1880MHZ and would like to keep going.
 
U cant connect i believe bcuz the SETI@Home server is down while they install 100Mb of bandwidth. Thats happening this afternoon.
 
Spleenus is correct. Berkeley is in the process of an upgrade. Until it's complete we're not going to be able to upload or download. The good news is after the upgrade all the problems will be fixed (fingers crossed).

Question for ya though... How are you doing 2 hour WU's on a P4 1880? I've got my P4 1.6a clocked at 2143 and my average WU is about 3.5 hours.
 
I'm curious about the 2 hour WU time too! My P4 1.6a is OC'd to 2.2 and the closest I get to 2 hr WUs is ~2:45 for high angle ranges!

And yes, we're really in the middle of the outage now, although overnight was a PITA for uploading/downloading (probably alot of people filling up before the official outage time).
 
Going by his sig I would say he made a typing error ,his sig says 1.8a @2880 stable 2.03v ,not 1880.Also his DDR RAM is running at 400 MHz!!:Q😀.Thats awesome !😀

He has a typo. The 2 hour range makes sense for a P4a @ 2880 (160 fsb). My 1.8a is at 2340 and my average is 3 hr 2 min with my DDR at 345 MHz CAS2. He sure is lucky to have hit that speed. I'd like to see if he could play quake3 for a couple hours without a crash at that speed....the ultimate test IMO.

Like everyone else said, berk. is down...even when it's not down you should still consider connecting to one of the public queues.

Try running:

seti.exe -proxy cwcenterprises.myip.org:5517

and you'll connect to my queue and be able to pull w/u's directly from me. PM me if you're going to do it and I'll add some into your queue since at 2hrs a piece you'll eat them up pretty fast.
 
I did not say i couldnt connect today. I havnt gotten anything for a week and i always use orangekids server. Will you please read what i asked before and give me and answer.

I try to set up my account on my new computer. It asks for 1 or 2 .im running the client and have set this up 50 times before. I put in 2 and my correct email address. tedinde@home.com.. Even though @home is no more. That's the one iv'e used for a year.

And again it says no such file or directory. It is not that i cant connect, its that i can set my seti back up. i can set up a new user email. But not under my regular email name. Which is in the 300's on team anandtech.

I've been climbing 5 spot everyday for 3 months and sometimes 20 spots. Im not starting with a new name.

As in connect as i was saying it wont set up my account anymore. WTF

 
Thats the error I always got when I couldn't connect because berkley was down. I think if you manualy input your user_info then you won't have to worry about it. or you could wait until berkley is back up. 🙁
 
OrangeKid's server's been out of WUs for about a week, I've switched over to my own queue. You might want to try pulling from one of the other public queues.
 
Im still getting the same thing. I hit 2 and my email address, wait 30 seconds and it asks to set up 1 new user or 2 again returning user. I've even taken my old userinfo.sah file and put it in still nothing. I've downloaded the client 5 times and reloaded no good. I'll keep trying.
 
My sig was confusing before about my rig when i was saying i was pulling it off in 2 hours, I never updated my rig when i said 2 hours. I've since switched to the new ASUS 850e board. 2800mhz on a stock intel HSF, Gonna put the waterblock back on tomorrow. 3dmark has went up 800points. And that was against my epox bda+ at over 400ddr.

My seti times have dropped. So i guess mem bandwidth does matter.

In this case, you might want to try open a command prompt, the run the seti cli program adding a specify proxy (OK's server if he has WU queue up for you), something like this:

C:\Program Files\SETI@home>setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe -proxy orangekid.teamanandtech.com:5001

However, make sure your user_info.sah is showing up correctly because when you re-tried signing up, it *might* messed up that file again.

Yeppers

Does that chipset use the new Hypertransport? Another data bottleneck elimination point.
