My search is over! I've found absolutely the worst most useless group of people ever (yes even worse than SSA)!

Your local driver's license organization! I've spoken now to three on the phone at different ones and they are all exceptionally arrogant and non-helpful in a very condescending manner. Not to be outdone the last one gave us totally inaccurate information as well, which I assumed at the time was wrong and just confirmed was.

Whoo hoo!

Most worthless group of people, hands down, is anyone in the food service industry in Connecticut. Those people work SLOW AS SH!T. It amaxes me that some of these places are in business. It is not suppose to take 5 minutes to get an order filled at mcDonalds when you are the only person in line. This is tpical everywhere in Groton, CT and the nearby areas. It's BULLSH!T. These people are USELESS by definition.

Our DMV is TERRIBLE. I do all my license renewals via the mail, but this year I needed a new license, so I had to go in. I walk in, and am like number 3 in line with three people at the counter. Two more people walk in behind me, so there's 5 people in line. Two of the three workers finish with the people they're helping, turn to the remaining woman and go "We're taking our break now."

So, I went from a potentially 15 minute stop in the DMV to about a half hour. I'm honestly surprised the last remaining woman didn't take her break too and leave us all standing there in line with no one to help us.

I guess they got into an argument with my dad when he went in to get a new license. He didn't want his SSN on his license, but they insisted it was on there (even though it's not required by law). They didn't argue with me though, which kind of dissappointed me, cause I was in an argueing mood that day :)

Perhaps, but at least I have the choice to take my business elsewhere, No options with the DMV!

I really don't think its an issue of "Welcome to America", its more or less an issue of "Welcome to Alabama"... The license departments here are run by each county, IE-Jefferson County (Bham)has a different supervisor (Elected official- License director) than Madison County (Huntsville)..
If there are any questions that one of us "natives" might be able to help you with concerning your license, give em.. I deal with the license dept's/public safety dept far more than I would like to..If I didn't have such a lead foot I'd be alright. Glad to help you if I can

DMV isn't too bad here in canada. The lady who gave me my final driving test for my full license was a hotty if I remember correctly... :D and she let one stupid move slide since I noticed it and said something to the effect of "sh!t!!" before she noticed/said anything.

Will they accept an SSN number and not the card itself. One person said that SSA would give proof of the number, but they won't.

In Arizona, we have the MVD. The Motor Vehicle Division, part of the Department of Transportation

The DMV's are so bad here in IL that the libertarian candidate for governer ran on a platform that included getting your DL free if you had to wait for more than 15 minutes.
