My search command doesnt work in Win XP Pro...

when i try to do a search for files on my computer it gives me this error

A file that is required to run Seach Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup.

so how do i fix that??
i tired reinstalling window components from the Control Panal- Add or Remove Programs
but i dont see a option for a find or search command

please help
