One day I booted up one of my systems which has a scsi hard drive installed. The scsi bios when it boots up says no scsi boot devices detected. The system bios is set to boot from scsi,I checked the cable and even swapped it. It's like the hard drive is gone. When I try to run fdisk,it says no disks are present. This all happened overnight. What's going on?

plug the hard drive back in. :)

check the power too, and jumpers....

edit: to "plus" the cable back in wouldn't do much.

I tried a new scsi cable, checked the power connector, tried a different power connector. I believe the termination is done automatically by the scsi adaptor(it's SCAM compliant).

No! Terminiation has to be done at the ends, the adapter just tries to automatically decide if it needs to terminate itself as an end (actually, it can do high/low termination or something when you have UW SCSI on one end aof the chain nd U SCSI on the other). You still need to tell the drive to terminate, or have an active terminator on the cable.

I physically terminated the drive, still no good. Funny how it worked one day, then it just didn't.
