I couldnt believe it when i saw it. There is a row of computers here with build 2526 for testing. So of course, I get on one and try it out. What is really nice is that they are even considering upgrading to either XP or W2k. What will decide the upgrade is user feedback.

so come on UT Austin students! "rock the vote";)

Cool...here I'd say 70% are Win2k, and the rest of the PC's are a mix of NT4 SP6 and Win98. Then a lot of G4 macs, but I'm not sure what OS they're running.

FYI, the RTM build version is 2600.

Anything above 2500 is pretty close though.

actually, the main lab that i was in has 98SE on the machines (although they changed that nasty default green to that nice blue in ME/w2k:)). They also have a quarter of the lab (~60-80 computers) G4 macs.

too bad they dont have the RTM build yet. Nonetheless, since the row of XP machines were "experimental", you cant login to one by signing up. you just walk up a station. since many people dont know this yet, I get to avoid a 10-15 min wait....:D

One of our bigger computers lab were upgraded from NT to 2000 this summer. However, in the EE computer lab, they got about 20 new Dell P4 machines, but for some reason they got NT instead of 2000.
