My SATA power cables are a little short

Both of my SATA power cables coming out of my power supply are a bit short. I tried looking for extenders but no luck. Has anybody ever seen SATA power cable extenders?

I do have the 4 pin Molex to 15 pin adapter I can use, and that would solve my problem because the 4 pin connectors reach easily; but I noticed the SATA power connector from the power supply has 5 wires going to it, and the 4 pin Molex has 4! What is that extra wire for, and would I be missing anything by using the adapter as apposed to using the regular SATA power cables from the power supply?

Thanks, guess I'll go with the adapter. Perhaps that extra wire coming from the SATA power cable is for future use. I know they have SATA II and soon SATA III; it's hard to keep up with all the changes.

The extra wire is a 3.3V line, I believe. Not sure what it's for. If you'll look carefully, you'll notice that the SATA power connector actually has 15pins, most of which are unused. Why it needs a bunch of unused pins I don't know.
