I doubt it happens often, but if Sprint repairs the phone as opposed to replacing it, just replacing the LCD will leave your phonebook intact I'm sure - I'd speak to Sprint's customer support and see what methods of repair are available.

i think they should be able to. when they update the firmware of phones they extract all the info, reformat the phone, update the firmware, and reupload your numbers/ contacts etc.

most probably they can, take it to a store.

I have some software that synchs my phone's records with my computer's records. Maybe you could use something like that.

If so, use that.

I know it has a pc data cable, but I think thats for the internet, not the phone numbers

The cable allows for both in most cases. I would post about it in some cell phone forums. Someone out there has the software.

If your phone still boots and the data port is ok, they should be able to swap it for free in a store. That was what I was told when I swapped out a broken phone's phonebook.

That phone does that to everyone who's owned it. And no, you can't get your numbers because Sprint doesn't care about their own customers. It's entirely possible to get them out via their computer system and put them into a phone of the same exact model, but they wont do it unless you bitch very hard. Speaking as someone who's received 3 free phones from Sprint, you can tell I've pushed pretty hard.
