Well it was working just fine the other day. I come in from some yard work and no internet. Ok so I go reset the router. Nothing again. I unplug then replug the power, still nothing. So I just directly plug into the modeom and forget about it. Well today mom needed to use the interent and complained that hers wasnt working. Ok so I go to plug the router up and still a no go. I do a hard reset with no luck and left the power out some more. I can however communicate with it via the 192.168... and thats how I know its not picking up an IP anymore. Anyone know a solution?

Its a 4 port BEFSR41

Do you have a connection when directly plugged into cable modem?

Can you:

a) turn the router on, connect to it's http://198.162. ...

b) make sure DHCP is enabled

c) make sure your PC's IP is set to dynamic

d) restart PC

e) then post an "ipconfig /all" into the forum?

double check your cables, make sure they are ok. That is step #1 in troublshooting.
