my router is half dead!

my router work w/o power on to indicated the lights, blinking, etc! I can be able to network like sharing internet, exchange files, etc! I just don't understand why it's working! It a beatup router as you can see below! It's a ghetto router bought 4 years ago and it's working flawlessy!

My guess is that you have the two cables plugged into what the router considers to be the same port. Only difference between the two ports is that one has the pins wired to be an uplink port.

Try moving the cables to other ports on the router and see if it still works. I'd be willing to bet that it won't work any other way besides the way you have it, without being powered on.
