I don't know how many times I have to tell them to unstretch the picture when they're watching an HDTV episode...I tell them to make sure the picture is stretched for SD programming (tell them to look for gray bars on the side), and to make sure it's not stretched for HD programming. I think 90% of the time I go in there they're killing the HD picture by leaving it stretched....

I don't see how they can't tell that the picture is stretched, looks like sh!t, and is wasting 30% of the space, but ohtwell.

0/10 on the rant. Maybe you could rant if you were watching it like that.

I guess I could really give a shit, but I just think it's retarded to pay for HD service and watch a completely distorted version of what you're paying for.

heh, what i find more disturbing is watching stretched standard tv... i can't stand it. and some people say "i don't see a difference"....

I hate it too, but I really don't want to get burn in on the tv so that's why I do it....I don't watch much SD though, since about the only time I watch TV is during primtime hours and 90% of the shows are in HD now.

Agreed, it makes my head hurt to watch that.
